History and Objective
The center is established in December, 1996, to support the researchers in carrying out
animal experiments. The center is provided with proper management systems for keeping
experimental animals, and equipped with facilities like special cleaning and sterilization
section and sophisticated instruments, for conducting animal experiment, animal breeding
and microbiological experiments.
A support service team, consisting of one assistant and three animal feeders, is in charge of the
maintenance of the facilities related to animal experiment. A group of professors, in charge of
the animal experiments, and the steering committee of the institute jointly examine and take
decision on all relevant matters starting form legal regulations and ethical rules linked to
animal experiment to expansion and improvement of facilities like installation of equipments
and personnel recruitment. The administration committee, formed in late 1998 to upgrade the
level of animal experiment, first scrutinizes the experimental plan and then confirms the ethical procedures. The regulations for managing and using animals have been made based on the
Guide for the care and use of laboratory animals (ILARM national Research Council, USA).
